AT&T Digital Life, a Platform for Remote Home Automation

Because of the customizable experience provided by this platform, service suppliers can present a unique graphic user interface and expand branding to equipments. Providers are able to tailor the solutions for particular industry and applications, i.e. consumer, home monitoring, healthcare, etc., based on their own needs and business types. Digital Life platform had its origin from technology from Xanboo, which was taken over by AT&T in 2010. Xanboo was founded in 1999 as one of the original cloud-based home security and automation companies. In 2006, AT&T supplied its Dallas customers with a Xanboo-based program which was short-lived. Not long ago, AT&T showed its Digital Life platform abilities at the GSMA Connected House at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain from Feb 27 to Mar 1, 2012. AT&T Digital Life offers Dallas and international home security and automation suppliers with lower entry costs into a market that can potentially produce new return streams and lower churn for the vendors. Service vendors can build their own interfaces and utilizations with a software developer's kit (SDK) that contains home monitoring cameras and home safety sensors at the price of $9.95/month. This platform is similar to Motorola Mobility's 4 Home, presently implemented by Verizon, AT&T telecom opponent that had begun to provide its Home Monitoring & Control solution powered by Motorola 4 Home at the price of $ 9.99/month in the year of 2011. Kevin Peterson, a Senior VP at AT&T, commented that focus for this new business is on international markets, not the US. This means that people in Dallas cannot profit from the Digital Life platform currently. Nevertheless, some folks at AT&T still held the opinion that besides the worldwide markets outside of the United States, the Digital Life platform is also available for Dallas security service vendors and providers all over United States.
